Enrolment in Garden Design Diploma
No formal qualifications are needed to join the Garden Design School Diploma course, though a keen interest in garden design and a commitment to learn is essential. You are not required to attend an interview or pass an exam, although we do encourage you to attend a Taster Day or at least meet our principal tutor.
Term Structure
The course, lasting 38 weeks, is divided into three academic terms which follow Bristol Term Dates. School days (the time you attend lectures/studio sessions) are held on Thursdays and take place between 9.30am and 4.30pm. There is a 45 minute break at lunchtime, and two shorter (15 minute) breaks during the morning and afternoon.
*There are 40 attendance days in total and two of these days will be on a Friday in 2024.

- Autumn term: 14 September – 14 December 2023 (Half term week 23 Oct to 27 Oct)
- Winter term: 4 January – 28 March 2024 (Half term week 12 Feb – 16 Feb)
- Summer term: 18 April – 18 July 2024 (Half term week 27 May – 31 May)
Fees for 2024/25
Fees for the 38-week (40 contact / classroom days) Diploma Course commencing September 2024 are as follows:
£7,075.00
Fees cover the cost of the garden design course tuition and the use of A1 parallel motion drawing boards in the studio. Fees do not include: lunch (bring your own) or the equipment/materials needed for both class work and independent study. A list of equipment students should own is available upon request.
Enrolment onto the Garden Design School’s Diploma Course is allocated strictly on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. A deposit of £700.00 must accompany your completed application form and this deposit is not refundable once the School has written to you with an offer of a place. If an offer of a place is made to you, the place will not be confirmed until you have completed, signed and returned the School’s acceptance form by the date specified.
Payments can be made by cheque, or bank to bank transfer.
